You’ve decided to start a weight loss program and you want to take it off fast.

But how?

With a little help from Mother Nature, you can be off to a flying start in a matter of days. Focusing on nutrient-dense foods that are easily digested and readily used by the body for energy and cleansing is the place to start.

Fresh fruits, raw vegetables, green juices, and quick-exit foods are the key ingredients.


Start the day with a glass of water tinged with freshly squeezed lemon – it will make a powerfully alkalizing environment inside the body allowing your system to cleanse and purify.

Morning is the time when your system is cleansing and eliminating waste. If you want to drop weight fast, don’t make your body stop the cleansing/eliminating process by eating a huge breakfast.

After your lemon water, when you get hungry, opt for fresh fruit juice or a dairy-free protein shake made with coconut or almond milk.  Adding a banana can make it last until lunch.  If you’re still hungry before noon, snack on fruit.


Go raw for lunch.  Raw foods are uncooked. So, when you’re ready for your first meal of the day, choose a salad, raw veggies, or green juice.  We all know that increasing the number of raw fruits and vegetables you eat each day is beneficial.  By going raw until supper time, you’ll increase the nutrients in your diet while decreasing the calories drastically. 


Choose quick-exit foods. Foods that your body recognizes, breaks down, and uses immediately are quick-exit foods.  

Vegetables and fruits are high on the list.  Steamed broccoli, baked yams or butternut squash, broiled fish, whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce are all simple foods – your body knows what to do with them at a chemical level.  Any of these foods, with a fresh salad, are satisfying and healthy options.  Natalia Rose, author of The Raw Food Detox Diet, says, “Simple foods, whether cooked or raw, in simple combinations, is the fastest, most effective way to cleanse and rejuvenate.”


Cut out all processed foods, as well as most meats and dairy products, and stay away from caffeine, white sugars, white flours, artificial sweeteners, fast foods, and sodas.

Forget about the diet foods right now as well. Diet foods may contain chemicals or additional sugars that your body will have to deal with.


Choosing whole foods, raw foods, or quick-exit foods daily for at least one week prior to beginning a standard weight loss program will ensure time for your body to focus on releasing toxins and excess fat that has built up in the body’s tissues.
